GVN Foundation Australia - Supporting the Development of Communities in Need
GVN Foundation Australia (GVNFA) is a non-profit organisation based in Australia. GVNFA's vision is to improve the conditions of communities in a sustainable way. GVNFA works with communities addressing the root causes of need and in doing so, contributing to reducing that need in the long term through supporting development activates. The result is that communities become more skilled to tackle poverty themselves and develop a sense of their own ability rather than disability.
Current GVNFA Initiatives
GVNFA's main goal is to channel funds raised into self sustaining, development initiatives to enable people to provide for themselves and their families without having to continually rely on donations.
Accordingly, our aims for 2010:
- Establish a primary school in Kenya that will give poor children a free and exceptional education.
- Encourage and support self sustainable orphanages.
- Offer micro financing to poor entrepreneurs.
- Continue with immediate needs of food, shelter and medical care.
